Golden

What is there even to say?

When you have a child that YOU know is extraordinary, so uniquely crafted into someone magical, and you unexpectedly get to share them with the world on a technicolor stage.

When humor and a witty mind meet the purity and passion of the heart, and then you sprinkle in some vocal talent and a feel-good storyline?

You say, bravo, Charlie Bucket. I truly don’t have the words to convey the depth of my pride to be your mom. Not because you had a stellar performance (which you did), but just because you’re you.

Homecoming 2024

She skipped out to the truck, barefoot, heels and iPhone in hand I opened the rear passenger door for her and her full hands, and caught my breath.

11 years ago, she had her first taste of glam, also in shades of plum, as flower girl for Amy and Ben and now we’re here.

I know the next 11 years will also fly, and she’ll be 25… the age her own mama was a bride, and I can’t help but wonder…. Will there be another sunny Saturday where she is all glammed up and trots barefoot out to her dad’s truck, again to be whisked away to a beautiful photo shoot with her best girls, and then off to another milestone dance.

Pardon my nostalgia as I dream big dreams for my Bean on this HoCo night.
