My girl, my girl, talkin’ bout my girl…

My girl!

I know, quit with the cheesy song-slash-blog titles, already.

erin pre church

More than likely, when I snapped this (or, actually, I think Seth took the original photo, and I edited it), she was eating random Nerds or the like off the floor…

But there is something about the curls, the side bow, the length of her slender legs, her concentration…..I don’t know.

But I love this shot.  Just a quick moment captured, pre-church, waiting for the rest of the family to be ready.

And now, looking more closely…I know what she was doing….  See the dark spot a few inches below her left knee?  It’s a Minnie Mouse stick-on earring.  This was the morning she took the WHOLE SHEET of earrings and adorned her legs, her sandals, her face….I SHOULD have grabbed a picture of THAT! lol

My girl….she is one in a million.

Blue (sk)eyes smiling at me….

Clever, aren’t I?

Ha.

But seriously, how cute is this kid?

An Elvis smile like his brother.  Blue peepers like his sissy.  I die.

I’m one lucky momma.

And just for fun…here are all three little ones in the bumbo at about 3 months, give or take.  Love it.

Thrush

Oh, my.

Thrush.

It is awful.

I'm surviving it.

Maybe when it is behind us, I'll be able to form a coherent sentence about the journey through it.

But for now, let me just go on record to say, I love James; ignorance may not be bliss, but sometimes it is a saving grace; and, I pretty much feel like a rock star mom for persevering through this.

Oh, and by the way, everybody and their mother said, "you have to get gentian violet, it will help SO MUCH."  Great, thanks.  But no one bothered to mention that it is impossible to find.  Grr.  Oh, well.  The meds that James and I are both on seem to be doing the trick, too.

Here's to hoping that happier eats lie ahead!

And PS, Erin still has pneumonia.  Boo, hiss.

Laying low didn't do me any favors

This post is not to complain.  It is to update and document.

I am SO tired.

I have gotten much too little sleep in the last 2 nights.

It is due, in part, to a little mister who did not enjoy spending his three-month-birthday in his newly finished nursery.  Stinker.

It is due more to a little miss whose "cough from Seth" turned into double pneumonia.

We are living on snuggles and Amoxycillin.  And laundry detergent.

Because when said little miss tosses her cookies, repeatedly, in your bed at 6:30 AM, you very much, and post haste, wash your bedding.

Here's to hoping that a delayed start to her preschool year and a relatively quiet week at home will have us getting a good report on Thursday.

Hello, Monday (Seth edition)

Since returning from Tennessee, we're been struggling a little bit with Seth.  What an outsider might perceive as bratiness or aggressiveness, we were seeing a need for attention and quality one-on-one time.

After a stern (and decidedly deserved) wake up call from Gramma this past weekend, I decided to shift my focus with true intention this week onto Seth.  So, this edition of Hello, Monday (sans pictures, boo!) is all about my baby...

Hello, coarse and brown leg hair.  Where did you come from, and what are you doing on my 4-year-od?

Hello, microwave s'mores.

Hello, hair-pulling rounds of Chutes and Ladders (that game never ends!!!).

Hello, Clorox and paper towels, and a little boy learning to wipe the floor when he can't be bothered to watch where he is aiming you-know-what. ;)

Hello, enlisting little hands to help sort laundry.

Hello, bright eyes lighting up at successfully writing S-E-T-H over and over again.

Hello, gray skies, that have kept us inside with quiet play and sweet moments.

Hello, magical 18-month Carter footie pajamas that still somehow fit a 34-pound four-and-a-half year old.

What are you saying "hello" to today?  Tell us over at Lisa's blog!

Laying low

Seth had it for almost two weeks.

He gave it to Jim, and it showed up full force while we were traveling between Tennessee and Akron.

Erin has started to show signs as of Wednesday.

And my father just called to say he is going home from work with a fever, aches, and prescription meds from his doctor.

I'm feeling okay thus far (although I'm thinking we may have the beginnings of thrush -- no!!), so thankfully, Master James seems to be in the clear, too, but....

We are running on water, freezer pops, and chicken soup around here.  We are also resting up in preparation for a busy weekend.  That said, I'm not holding my breath that our inaugural Gregory family cookout will actually go off as planned on Saturday....

Until then....we're laying low.

Hello, Monday-Tuesday, 8.7.12

Hello, week that will be "off," since Friday felt like Saturday, and Saturday felt like Sunday, and so on and so forth...

Hello, happy colors on my kitchen counter.

Hello, baby girl napping in her new grown up room.

Hello, sick hubby.  I hope you feel better soon!

Hello, week of prepping for barbeque fun.

Hello, getting back on track with WW.  Two weeks of indulgence due to house guests, traveling, vacation, and funerals has caught up.
