30 x 30 Week 8

I don’t want to talk about it.

I’m discouraged, I’m frustrated, and I’m confused.  Other than the minimal splurging (which I’ve done my best to offset with workouts), I have been following my sensible eating habits.  And yet….I haven’t lost a pound in over three weeks.  In fact, I’ve gained.  Again.

  • Weight lost: none, not even maintaining. I’m back up 6 lbs. in 3 weeks.
  • Total lost since July 6th: 2 lbs.
  • Pounds to go in Phase Two: 14 lbs.

I have a couple theories as to what is going on, but none of them make me feel any better.  I’m exactly a month away from my “D-Day” and even though I’d come to terms with not making the 3o-lb. loss by my birthday, I will NEVER come to terms with being no better off than when I started.

And that’s how I’m feeling today. =(

I know that feeling all too well.

I have tried it on my own, with "watching what I eat." I just cannot do it. My husband has amazing willpower and makes good choices. I suck at both of those.

I *have* to have the structure of Weight Watchers. Especially when nursing. I am surprised how well I *think* I'm doing when I'm trying on my own, but then when I count my points, I'm way over.

I am not one of those ladies who can breastfeed and have the pounds fly off me. My body, all three times, has held onto weight when I have nursed. So it's extra hard. And my supply suffers regardless if I try to lose weight or not. I figure it's a trade-off; I have good pregnancies but I get the raw end of the deal when nursing.

You may just need more time to adjust to having a baby. Or you might need more structure.

Or you might just need a brownie. Seriously. Don't beat yourself up. Even though I know you will. I do it to myself all the time.

monica try drinking unsweeten grapefruit juice with your meals, my friend had great results with that she has lost 21 pounds in 3 months, she eats senseable, but doesn't excercise,

oh man, I feel your pain. I have 25lbs to lose, joined a gym back in Feb and went pretty religiously. I lost 7lbs total. Yep, that's it. I don't eat a ton of crap so it's very frustrating. And now I'm about to start IVF so I think my dreams of losing weight before a potential baby are out the window!!

Don't feel too bad. Unfortunately it's part of being a woman, and a mom, and getting older :(

I eat really reasonably, and yet I gain weight. It's always been really frustrating. The one thing that does seem to help kick start if I plateau is a low-carb diet for 2 weeks.

One suggestion I just thought of...try only giving yourself 400 cals for breastfeeding & maybe change your workout for awhile. Hmmm...You know I had a HARD time losing weight when I had Z & M. it didn't come off until I had T. :\ *hugs* Keep moving forward. Keep trying. Don't give up. Seriously. You said yourself you have shorts that don't fit anymore! Thanks awesome, Mon! The scale isn't the only factor. Cross my heart. That was rambly :D

i'm sorry. so discouraging. BUT keep it up. keep working at it.

is it possible it's muscle?
did you reach a plateau that you have settled at for a while (i always do, and it takes me a while to get over it).

i've actually been using w.w. lately. it has been helpful. "it's not a diet, it's a way of life" i've heard,and i now agree. it just helps me be mindful of what and how much i'm eating each day.
