6/30

Our MOPS craft this morning was not something I was really in the mood to tackle, but…I sucked it up.  And I have to admit, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

The idea suggested to us by the craft directors was to fill all of the 20 squares with various names of the Lord – Alpha, Omega, Jehovah, Savior, etc.  I, however, rogue that I am! decided to a) not stamp on the patterned squares, and to use other words that apply to this particular stage in our family.

See for yourself:

I apologize for the photo quality.  The sun came back (hallelujah!!!) and I wasn’t patient enough to mess with my camera settings (gotta blog while the baby sleeps!).

I swiped an oddball square to be the “BE” and then filled the other solid-colored squares with words that I want to strive to emulate – and that I want to teach Erin and Seth to BE – to be patient, joyful, lovely, good, sweet, kind, calm, strong, and of course, in Dr. Suess-style, to “be you.”

The canvas actually looks good in our family room, dining room, kitchen, and half-bath, so I’m not sure where it’s going to land permanently (though I’m leaning towards the half bath).

Thank you, Ashley and Ashley, for your creativity and provision of a fun craft this morning, and for all the work you put into our MOPS meetings.
