They say it’s never too late….

…but really:

At what point in the day is it really too late to bother making the bed?

I mean, do you have to make it before noon?  Before three o’clock?   Before your husband gets home from work?

Are you one of those neurotic people who makes their bed right before you get in it for the night if – heaved forbid – it didn’t get made the moment you got up?

As I type this, it’s 5:09 PM.  Jim is on his way home, dinner is ready, Seth is preoccupied with my toothbrush and a tube of training paste, and I’m debating if I should (a) unpack the suitcases from last week’s vacation, or (b) go make our bed.

Two questions, Interpeeps:

(1) which would YOU do?

(2) which am I going to do?

Hmmm...I probably would just skip making the bed today. Maybe that's because it is 4:37 here in Denver and I haven't made mine either. Don't plan to! :) I'd rather relax for a few minutes while my kids are occupied and read some blogs! :)

Now that you've met me, I'm pretty sure you are not surprised to know that I NEVER make the bed LOL!

My money is on you not making the bed today (due to all of this peer pressure)

I make our bed everyday when I get up. It's a sickness really. If for some reason I hadn't made it by 5 I would half-way make it meaning I would straighten the sheet and blanket and put the pillows on top...but not the comforter or decorative pillows. I'm guessing you won't make it since it's already 5!

I would unpack. You are going to do neither because you are on the computer!

I would make the bed because I would need the bed to be nice so I could sort through my suitcase so I could unpack. I call it quirky, Hubs calls it OCD. You decide.

I think you'll make the bed and then read some blogs.

I'd unpack just b/c Seth isn't under-foot at the moment. You...might be making the bed just to see your pretty new bedding set in action. :D

This made me laugh out loud. I have totally made the bed just before getting into it. I didn't make it because I cared about the bed being made but because I can not STAND getting into messed up sheets. Last week, yes that's right, last week, I discovered making the bed first thing and am loving it. We'll see how long it lasts.

Don't make the bed!!! If I don't make it by noon/1:00ish then it's not getting done (and that's usually most days!)

I always make the bed no matter what time of the day. I just love to get into a bed at night that has been straightened out. Have I taught you nothing? Just kidding!! Love from St. Augustine

I can't remember the last time I made our bed...Why bother when there is a handy door to close when visitors come!

In this instance I would unpack; however, I would make the bed before we got in it that night (I'm way too OCD).

I'm thinking you didn't make the bed or unpack, but spent some time on the internet.

1. I'd do neither, but sit and have a glass of wine instead.

2. I hope you did the same!

I never make the bed. Well, only if people are coming over that I know might see our bedroom. I figure it's a waste of time most days...we'll just mess it up again!
Skip it!!!

I make mine constantly. Even if the rest of the bedroom is a mess, it makes me feel better to have the bed made! If Dave gets up after I leave for work, then I make it when I get home from work!!! Silly, I know.

This is so funny. I do not care if my bed ever gets made! But my husband is one of those people who likes it made immediately. If for some reason it does not get made and remains unmade, he will make it before getting into bed for the evening! He has to have the bed made before he can get in. I have always been amused by this! =)
